T.L.C. VoxBox from Influenster

So this month I heard about influenster from a coworker. I thought it'd be interesting to try out. I was pretty excited that only a short time after filling out some intro surveys I was picked to receive my first Influenster Voxbox! It was named the "T.L.C." VoxBox, and was for mommas.

My first Box!

Full disclosure, I got all of this for free! How awesome is that?

First, I absolutely LOOOOVE the Neo To Go. My daughter will be four in September. She is not a huge fan of trying to clean a wound, get cream or ointment on it, and covering it. This makes it so easy. I can sneak spray her, it's over before she knows it, and then there is no crying! Well, extra crying.

There was also a lovely coupon in the box for Breyers Gelato. My first thought was "What in the heck is Gelato?" Apparently it's fancy Italian ice-cream? I had no idea. But what I do now know, is it freaking delicious. I mean, just look at this!!

Let's talk about Ivory soap. I had no freaking idea that this stuff is apparently magic. Not only can you use it to make cheap laundry soap (with some borax and a few other simple ingredients), you can also blow it up in the microwave!

Untitled
Okay, it's not EXACTLY blowing it up, but in 30 seconds it went from this.....

Untitled
To this!!!

  Untitled
My daughter had soooo much fun with this. She played with it forever, and then clean up was super easy....because it was soap ;)

I was also able to sign up for the New FuelRewards program through Shell. I linked my Mastercard and got a bonus 25 cent off a gallon deal. How awesome!

Untitled

I also received a pack of travel Puffs with lotion. It is currently in the bottom of my purse, because it is prime Grass Pollen season. And let me tell you, I need it. Love it. Easy on the nose.

The final item was an Avon Anew Wrinkle Smoother. This item was just not for me. And that is okay, it's still awesome to get to try something out. And it has great reviews, so I think most people would find it awesome.

I look forward to getting more boxes from Infuenster to try out and give my opinion on. How awesome!

Might as well do May.

Wow. This is a lot of posting going on in one night. I thought about saying screw it, and doing May a different day. But my kid has finagled her way into staying the night at Grandma's, so who knows when I'll have another free day to JUST DO IT! So, I'm just going for it.

Untitled

As you can tell, I get a few LynBDesigns orders. She tends to have awesome half off sales, with a buy three get one free deal..so what can I say? She has awesome Holos, so I go for it. This is "Am I Ginger?" from her Doctor Who collection. I wasn't sure about orange on me, but I went for it. And I am so glad I did.

Untitled

This is a combo from Polish Addict Nail color. April Showers with After the Rain. These pictures do not do them justice at all. Very pretty.

  Untitled

Oh. Em. Gee. LynBDesigns Absolutely Absolem from her Alice in Wonder collection. To. Die. For. Okay, not literally, I like being alive...but you know what I mean.

  Untitled

I loved it so much I wore it again, later in April, with Mind Palace. Weep from the beauty, people, weep.

Untitled
In that same order I got LynB's freebie of Green-eyed Kitty, and coupled with with I'm Late, I'm Late. The green tones were off between the two. I will have to find a better pairing for them.

Untitled

Untitled

I needed a more neutral color, as I was going to a big convention for work. I went with England Would Fall from LynBDesign's Sherlock collection. Very pretty, neutral, but still fun!

Untitled

My final polish from that order was Down the Rabbit Hole. No words Look at the depth! Untitled

And finally, I paired Credible Hulk with No Place Like Home and attempted placement with some dollar tree glitter. Not sure how I feel about the glitter, but love the colors! And now we are all caught up :) My goal is to not get so far behind again, but life happens, no?

The Rest of April

I didn't JUST polish my nails on my birthday. You crazy? There was much more April polishing fun to be had.

Untitled
Polish Addict Nail Color's Roses r Red and Violets R Blue. I loved both colors as they are worn here. They are thermal colors, however I don't think my nails were long enough to show any gradient change. Still very pretty
.

LynBDesigns No Place Like Home coupled with Spring Fever. I love her holo shimmery polishes. These were awesome. Spring Fever had a blue shimmer to it as well. Very pretty. It was a freebie with purchase, but I believe she has a couple for sale on her easy shop now. Seriously buy it.

I made a huge birthday order with Polish Addict Nail Color. This is a Birthday Polish coupled with Chocolate Bunny. I admit, I wasn't sure I'd like the brown, but it was so very pretty. UntitledUntitled
PANC's Pretty Zombie is so fun! IT GLOWS IN THE FREAKIN' DARK. While this is awesome. It might have scared me a few times in the middle of the night. When I woke up and then was like "what the heck is going on!!? Aliens! Oh, no, just my polish." UntitledUntitled
I have a tendency to couple Polish Addict with LynB. This is LynBDesigns "We All Do Silly Things" with PANC's "Vanellope Von Scheetz." And that was the last of my April Manis. Happy Birthday month to me!

Birthday Polish

I had a birthday in April. My husband had noticed my ever growing polish passion/collection/obsession. Whatever you want to call it. So he did, what was probably the sweetest thing ever. He contacted LynBDesigns on his own, and ordered a custom polish. He said to get something with glitters, moons, purples, all my favorite thing. I give you, my polish:

I didn't do it justice. Now that I have had a bit more practice, I need to do another mani with it. It was sooo pretty, and so very thoughtful.

March Mani Madness!

Now that I have caught up with my February paint jobs, it's time to catch you all up on March.

LynBDesigns does some awesome Holo polishes. This was one of the first I bought from her. Nightmare Revisited.

Untitled
This is Nightmare Revisited with flash. Neither picture really does this justice. And looking at these old photos I realize I have improved slightly in my polishing abilities. Go me.

Next up; China Glaze.

I freaking love textures. I would marry textures and make a baby. If I didn't already have a baby, and am a one and done-r. Oh, and my husband would be all "um..who is this 'texture'". But you know. This mani was done with Wish on a Star Fish, which has a lovely golden shimmer in it. As well as Teal the Tide. I wasn't as fond of Teal the Tide, but don't regret buying it either.

Untitled

After that, I decided go to with a more "funky" mani. This is a Polish Addict Nail Color that I received in a Mystery Box. Again, I would have never had picked this color on my own. But I ended up LOVING it. Riddle Me This!

I decided I would mesh two Indie brands with this next mani: Untitled

LynBDesigns Elementary and Polish Addict Nail Color Orange is the New Black. I have a mental note to give this one a retry closer to Halloween.

Untitled

Then it was time for Saint Patrick's Day. As I am part Irish, I figured I better make sure my butt was in green. Or at least my Nails. This is Zoya Chita, which had a bit of a shimmer to it as well, and NOPI's Carrie Underwood collection's Carrie'd Away. Loved both. Perfect for Saint Patrick's for sure! Untitled

In March I was using Kmart Shop your Way points to pick up Polishes. I had picked up Sweet Daisy from the Carrie Underwood collection, and decided to pair it with Polish Addict Nail Color's Toyland. I am not sure about Sweet Daisy with my skin tone.
I decided to go a little crazy with some more NOPI (Love Song, Selena, and Carrie'd Away) when I wanted to also test Essie's Mint Candy Apple. Is Essie gorgeous? Yes. But I have a huge issue with the formula. I actually haven't purchased another Essie yet. It was very thin and watery. And compared to NOPI was very difficult to deal with.

I ended March with some more LynBDesigns. I paired her Nemo Collection's "No Place Like Home" with her Start With the Riding Crop from her Sherlock collection. This mani was sexy. Something about a riding crop ;)

February Manis

It looks like I even missed some of my February manis that I had pictures of on flickr. Oh my! So let me show you what I did.

Untitled

First up is Polish Addict Nail Color The dark color is the Valentine's Polish that I received in a Mystery box from PANC. As well as "Glitter Hangover." What I love about her Mystery boxes is that I definitely go outside of my comfort zone. It helped me be more adventurous in what I tried out.

  Untitled

Next up is a flower mani using Sinful Colors. I believe the colors include Cinderella, Mardi Gras, Unicorn, and Purple Diamond. This mani grew on me after a day or so. I wasn't too sure at first. I'm not great at nail art yet.

I've been busy...

Wow, so I just kind of stopped updating didn't I? Let's be honest here. I have a 3 and a half year old. I work full time. I have taken up running. And I have fibromyalgia. So life sometimes leaves me little time (or energy) for everything else. But hey, I'm making an update now. So that's something....right? Do I get a cookie? Or a shiny new polish!!?

Here's the scoop. I'm still not cleaning up after a polish. Some day I'll grab that acetone and makeup brush and do things all proper like. But it isn't this day.

So, what have I been up to since March?

There was nail mail. Lots, and lots, of nail mail.
  Untitled Untitled Untitled Untitled Untitled

And sadly, that's just the ones I remembered to take pictures of. I also turned an old sewing table into a fun organizational tool for some storage :)

Untitled

I even received my first IPSY bag.

  Untitled

Jury is still out on that one. So far I've only been using the hair oil. I think I may be canceling it. Going to give it one more month. I did just order Rainbow Honey's monthly mini mystery polish bag. So we'll see if I like that better.

I may post some of my recent manis in a separate post. Think that's a good idea?
